Home Treatment for Acne - a non-chemical approach

The acne products that are sold in stores are full of chemicals that you may not want to apply to your skin. Many people prefer more natural products, and often look for home treatments for acne. Home treatment for acne, in many cases, has proven to be as effective, if not more effective, than the products that you purchase in the store.

Home treatment for acne begins with proper skin care. Make sure that you wash your face, with a pure soap such as Ivory, at least twice each day. If you live in an area that has high air pollution, you may want to wash more often. You should also wash your face after activities that cause you to sweat. Wash your face with warm water, and do a final rinse with a splash of cold water to close the pores.

It is also important that you drink plenty of water to keep your body and your skin hydrated. The proper amount of water intake helps to promote healthy skin, and will keep your skin looking younger for a longer period of time, helping it to retain its elasticity. You also need to eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

While no food has been scientifically proven to cause acne, any food that you have an allergy to will cause an acne breakout. You can have food allergies without realizing it - the only sign of the allergy may, in fact, be the acne breakout. For this reason, you should pay close attention to the foods that you eat, and keep records of what you have eaten when your skin breaks out. You might also want to visit an allergist to find out what you are allergic to. Most people are allergic to at least one food, even if they don't realize it.

Home treatment for acne also includes exercise. Most people don't realize the overall effect that exercise has on our minds and bodies. Exercise relieves stress, and stress can cause acne breakouts. Exercise builds our immune systems and makes us less susceptible to infections - acne is a skin infection. Exercise causes us to sweat, which rids our bodies of toxins. Toxins can cause acne as well. Make it a habit to exercise at least three times each week for at least thirty minutes.

Home treatment for acne continues with natural products to prevent or clear up acne. For instance, Evening Primrose oil can be used both internally and externally to clear up acne. For internal treatment, take between 3000 and 6000 milligrams per day. For external treatment, apply the oil directly to the acne. Leave it on overnight, and then wash it away in the morning. An herbal tea, made from the petals of the Evening Primrose plant will help prevent acne, if you drink it regularly. Crush the petals, or the leaves from the plant, and mix one teaspoon of the herb for every one cup of boiling water. Avoid using a metal pot or cup, as the metal can destroy the medicinal properties of the herb.

Other herbs that are useful for the prevention or cure of acne include lavender, rosemary, patchouli, eucalyptus, sandalwood, bergamot, tea tree, and clove. Lavender, bergamot, clove, and eucalyptus are all anti-bacterial herbs. Rosemary can be used as an astringent, and sandalwood is used as an antiseptic and astringent. Patchouli is very powerful, as it helps to regenerate skin cells, and has antiseptic, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties. Tea Tree is known for relieving skin irritations.

You can make soap out of any of these herbs by mixing one ounce of bees wax, 1 ½ tablespoons of water, and a ½ cup of sweet almond oil or sunflower oil. Simply use a double boiler, and heat the wax and oil over boiling water until it is melted. Heat the water separately, and then add it to the mixture. Stir the mixture as it cools, then add 20 - 30 drops of essential oil of the herbs that you choose, or use a teaspoon of ground herbs.

When purchasing herbs or herbal oils for home treatment for acne, make sure that you look for products that have been organically grown. You don't want to use herbs or oils from plants that were chemically treated with pesticides or other dangerous chemicals, as this actually defeats the purpose of home treatment for acne.

5 Steps To Choosing The Perfect Eyeglasses

Want to look sexy? (or should we say sexier!) Well, your eyeglasses can help you achieve that look. No, you did not read that wrong, and yes, we did say eyeglasses and not something else. Surprised? You need not be.

Gone are the days when having a vision problem and wearing eyeglasses was considered so dreadful. The perception was that eye glasses take away from your looks and make you look real geeky. Well, not anymore. By paying a little bit attention to what you are buying and following these simple suggestions for buying eyewear, you can ensure that you have picked the perfect pair of glasses for yourself - something that adds to your personality, not robs you of it.

Things To Keep In Mind When Buying Eyeglasses

1) Know Yourself

It is vital that your eyewear be chosen keeping in mind your individuality and personality. All people are not of the same type and hence you cannot just buy any pair of eyeglasses that may enhance someone else's personality. If being conventional works for you and is demanded at your office, then you should look for a traditional pair of eyeglasses as well. Stay away from peculiar and unusual shapes and stick to the basic oval or rectangular shape. Colors that are suitable in such a case are black, burgundy, brown, silver, grey, and golden.

If, on the other hand, conformity is not your thing and you are an artistic sort of a person, let your eyeglasses reflect that too. Go in for unique and atypical shapes and colors such as red, yellow, and green. You could even go a step further and choose tinted lenses for your eyewear instead of the clear ones.

2) Pay Attention To Your Features

Once again, not all of us have the same features and looks, thus there can be no one pair of eye glasses that can suit us all. While buying eyewear, you should pay attention to your looks and your features. Delicate features are enhanced by glasses that are small and not too loud. If your face is broad and you have strong features, you should buy eye glasses that are big and bold too.

3) Pay Attention To Your Coloring

This is a major factor in the quest for the perfect pair of eye glasses. People are typically classified as having warm coloring or cool coloring. If your skin has a yellow shade to it, then you are considered to have warm coloring. If, on the other hand, your skin is a bluish color, then you have cool coloring. When choosing eyeglasses it is important to be aware of your skin tone as this will decide the color of your eyeglasses. Warm skin colored people should opt for eyewear that is in a pale and soft color, something that is a bit low-key. For those who have cool skin coloring, louder and darker shades in eyewear are more appropriate.

4) The Lowdown On Brands

What is the need for all these tips on buying eyeglasses when you can simply pick a reputed brand and be done with it? Is that what you think too? Well, you could not be more wrong. Branded eyewear may be of superior quality than the unbranded kind, but that does not mean that a branded pair of eyeglasses will enhance your personality. Don't just buy eyewear because of its name. Try it on and think of buying it only if the pair is indeed doing something for your face and your overall looks. If you have to go with an un-branded pair, then so be it. It is certainly not the end of the world.

5) Selecting Proper Lenses

Make sure that the lens of your eyeglass is of the right size. When you wear your glasses, the lenses should be such that your eyes are in their center. If your eyes are high or low on the lens, then the size is not right. Another consideration with lenses is whether or not to buy anti-reflective lenses. If you spend long hours staring at a screen (TV, PC, etc) or spend considerable time doing anything that puts a glare into your eye, you should opt for anti-reflective lenses. However, as these lenses can cost a pretty penny, you may want to avoid them if you do not engage in much activity that causes reflections in your eyes.

In addition to the above, some other things to keep in mind when looking for the perfect pair of eye glasses are:

• If you do wear prescription eye glasses, do not forget to take your eyewear prescription along while buying eyewear.
• For older people, cat eyed shaped glasses can work wonders as they help to hide your age and make you look younger.

Thus, if you choose eyeglasses using this guide, then the next time you wear your glasses, people will not be turning away from you but will be turning to give you a second glance!

Acne Scar Removal Options - no scars please!

For people who suffer from acne, the only thing worse is acne scars - those marks that are left behind as a constant reminder of what you went through while dealing with acne. Quite a bit of research has gone into acne scar removal, and some methods for acne scar removal have proven to be very effective.

Acne scar removal can be both painful, and expensive. In most cases, it will take more than one round of treatment to get the best results, and often, even with the best results, the scars are not completely removed, but are greatly diminished and less noticeable. Most acne scar removal treatments are done in the dermatologist's office, and the patient is sedated.

The newest method for acne scar removal is laser skin resurfacing. Using a laser, the scarred skin is vaporized, leaving the layer of unscarred skin below the vaporized skin visible. Doctors are recommending laser skin resurfacing more than other treatments due to the fact that the results seem to be better, and fewer recurring treatments are necessary. While this method has been proven to be quite effective, other older methods of acne scar removal are also still used.

Dermabrasion is probably the widest known and used method of acne scar removal. A machine is used to literally abrade the skin, removing the top layer. Skin will have a smoother appearance, but the results are not as effective as laser skin resurfacing. Dermabrasion is less expensive than laser skin resurfacing, however.

Chemical peels are also a popular method for acne scar removal. Chemical peels work just like Dermabrasion and laser skin resurfacing, by removing the top layer of skin. But instead of using machinery or lasers, chemicals are used to remove the top layer. The results are about the same as the results that are achieved with Dermabrasion - and chemical peels are usually less expensive.

While laser skin resurfacing, Dermabrasion, and chemical peels are the most popular methods for acne scar removal, injection methods are also used. The injections may contain collagen, or fat taken from other parts of the body. While these injections work well, they do have to be repeated often, and they can be quite expensive. The injections do not actually remove or heal the scars - it simply hides them by filling them up.

Deep acne scars can be removed with punch grafts. Grafts of skin are taken from other parts of the body, and used to replace the scarred skin. This is a drastic method, and is usually only used for severe acne scars. This is a surgical procedure that is usually done in the hospital, not in the doctor's office.

Less severe acne scars may be treated with over the counter creams that contain Retin-A. Your dermatologist can also prescribe medications that contain Retin-A for acne scar removal. Again, this will only work for very light scarring. Moderate to severe scarring requires other types of treatment, such as dermabrasion, chemical peels, or laser skin resurfacing.

Everyone is not a candidate for acne scar removal. Many active diseases or pre-existing conditions can prevent you from pursuing acne scar removal treatments. Such diseases or conditions should be discussed with your health care provider before seeking treatment for acne scar removal. Furthermore, if you have an acne breakout during your acne scar removal treatment, that treatment will be discontinued until the outbreak clears up, and there is no sign of infection.

Of course, the best treatment for acne scar removal would be not to get the scars in the first place. Do not pop or squeeze acne pimples, and do not leave acne pimples untreated. If you don't use anything else, use an antibiotic ointment on the pimples to ensure that the infection clears up properly. However, if you do have acne scars, and you are thinking about acne scar removal, talk with your dermatologist to determine which method will work best for you, keeping in mind that some treatments work well for some people, while different treatments work better for others. Your dermatologist will be able to determine which treatment will work best for you, based on the severity of your acne scars, and your skin type.

Men Have More Delicate Skin Than Women!

It's a fact. Men's skin is more delicate than women's.

Yep, you heard right! The daily shaving ritual aggravates the skin, destroying the hydrolytic film on the skin's surface, thereby increasing dryness and reducing the skin's natural protection. What's more, men - especially outdoor men - tend to expose their skin to a torturous array of damaging conditions including sun, wind, water, salt, building products, chemicals, cuts, scratches, and grazes.

It's no wonder, then, that the man of today is more concerned about his skin than ever before. Like his level of fitness and health, his apparel, and his grooming, a man's skin says a lot about him. Unfortunately, this new-found awareness is leading some men to the conclusion that they should be using their wives' skincare products. This is a mistake! A man's skin is different to a woman's, so it needs to be treated differently.

Why is men's skin different to women's?
Before we can talk about how natural men's skincare caters to men's unique needs, we need to understand what those needs are.
Why is men's skin different to women's skin? There are four main differences between men's skin and women's skin:

. Men have thicker skin (although many women would beg to
differ)
. Men have oilier skin
. Men have more delicate skin
. Men's skin has smaller sebaceous glands

Why natural men's skincare?
There's little point using a skincare product which is made for a woman's skin. Quality-made natural men's skincare addresses the differences between men's skin and women's skin (without turning skincare into a tedious, never-ending chore).

A quality men's facial scrub is formulated to combat the drying effect of shaving while at the same time exfoliating and replenishing the skin's natural defenses. A men's soap contains specially selected oils and organic ingredients which not only cleanse but which also accelerate healing. Men's shaving supplements leave the face feeling fresh and moist, not dry and aggravated. And of course, men's all-in-one face and eye moisturizers provide convenient yet dynamic skin rejuvenation while simultaneously minimizing the damaging effects of excess sunlight.

Quality natural men's skincare doesn't contain chemicals which strip out the skin's natural moisture. It doesn't contain petrochemicals, sulphates, and chemical preservatives which can have an hormonal impact. It doesn't contain artificial fragrances and parabens. In fact, quality natural men's skincare contains only pure and organic ingredients. It consists of a blend of essential oils, vitamin extracts, spices, beeswax, and pure oils which is tailored to the specific needs of a man's skin and a man's environment and lifestyle.

As a result, a quality natural men's skincare range can make a man's skin feel less irritated, dry, and itchy. It can maximize the skin's elasticity, and enhance the complexion. Perhaps most importantly, it can make it far more pleasant to a woman's touch.

Conclusion
As it turns out, men need skincare just as much as women, maybe even more. Their skin is more delicate and it is continually exposed to damaging conditions. But because a man's skin is thicker and oilier and has smaller sebaceous glands, it needs a tailor-made skincare range. So when it comes to skincare don't settle for second best. A man's skin needs a natural men's skincare range - a range which reduces dryness and irritation, replenishes natural defenses, enhances skin rejuvenation, and makes his skin all the more touchable.

Back Hair Laser Removal

Back hair laser removal has become a popular choice for removing all those unwanted hairs. Excess body hair on your back can be removed effectively by laser removal treatment.

Back hair laser removal has a number of advantages over other traditional methods like waxing, shaving, electrolysis and use of depilatory creams. Of course, I must agree that these methods are inexpensive over laser hair removal in the short run. However, it is nearly impossible to remove back hair by yourself and it is also difficult to get someone do it for you every few days. The same is true if you choose to apply depilatory creams. Again, waxing can be a painful process.

Laser hair removal is a more or less permanent way of getting rid of unwanted back hair. The whole back hair removal process takes an hour or so. The laser beam directed to the group of hair follicles destroys the root. It, however, does not harm the adjoining skin in any way. You may have to repeat this treatment to get that desired result. The cost of each treatment amounts to approximately $750. Of course the price varies from one individual to the other depending on the amount of hair that needs to be removed.

Many men specially athletes opt for this safe and relatively pain free method. Generally you will not develop any complications after the treatment. Check out the centers available for back hair laser removal in your city. Thanks to improved technology the laser treatment has become a very reliable procedure and most of these centers offer the best of services. Still you can talk to those who have been through this treatment to make sure you are making a wise decision. You can also rely on the internet for vast and accurate information in this subject.

I can tell you for sure that back hair laser removal is one of the time saving, comfortable and cost effective way of getting rid of unwanted hair.

Nature, our oldest doctor, has simple solutions to treat many cases effectively. Those solutions are called herbs. Below is a list of the most well known herbs, what they can do and how we utilize them.
Thyme: Bronchitis, cough, diarrhea. In half liter of water we use 1-2 spoonfuls drained thyme. We leave for few hours (we do not boil) and drink the water.
Garlic: Spring allergies, arteriosclerosis, stomach pain, cathartic. Simply put it in your salad!
Acne. Fresh leaves are applied on the problem are. However, do not leave long because it causes irritation. Rinse of with water.
Oak rind: Sore throat, mouth ulcers or canker sores. Boil for 10 minutes and use it as a mouthwash.
Burns, hemorrhoids. We prepare the same solution and wash the area.
Aniseed: Cough, stomach disturbances, soft purgative. We boil 1 spoonful drained leaves in half liter of water and drink.

Wounds, exanthemas, burns, herpes, hemorrhoids, eye infections. Prepare the same solution and wash the area.
We can utilize herbs to overcome minor health problems but don't neglect to consult your doctor in serious situations. And don't forget, scientists also use herbal basis in many medicines. Botanology was the ancestor of pharmacology!

Top Seven Tips To Tanning Bed Safety - Ignore Them At Your Peril

Tanning bed safety is your ultimate protection against the negative effects of tanning on your skin. Although most people claim to understand the dangers of tanning beds, rarely do they know the safe facts of tanning beds.

1. Find a great tanning bed

Not only will your tan depend on using a high quality bed in your home but so will your safety. With so many options out there, be sure to research each possible bed in depth before making your big purchase.

If you're visiting a tanning salon, make sure they maintain their beds and check that they have tanning safety advice posters in full view.

2. Use only the best tanning lotions

Your tanning lotion helps determine the amount of UVA and UVB rays reaching your skin. Using hydrating tanning lotions made specifically for tanning beds will help keep your skin young, safe, and luscious.

Due to the ultraviolet rays given out by tanning beds, your skin may age prematurely from the effects of sunburn or skin cancer. Your may also feel sick when the rays from the bed begin to wear away at your immune system.

3. Stay in for the right time

In our endeavors to get great tans, some of us ignore all the safety facts and warnings on our beds. If your maximum exposure time in the tanning bed per day is supposed to be twenty minutes, only stay in the bed for twenty minutes.

4. Use the right protection

Besides great tanning lotions, you should also use protective goggles. Although Federal law doesn't control what you do in your home tanning bed, the guidelines exist to keep your eyes safe and healthy.

5. Check the Wattage

When choosing a tanning bed, there is a lot to know. One of the most important parts of your bed is the wattage that it uses. Tanning beds can be either high output (HO) or very high output (VHO). HO beds use 100 watt lamps, while VHO beds can use up to 168 watt tanning lamps.

Unless you have a special reason for buying a VHO tanning bed, you will probably want to choose an HO bed since they are cheaper and easier to purchase and re-lamp. Some HO beds may try to sell you on them by claiming to have a high UVB, but these lamps will only increase your risk of burning rather than tanning.

6. Check The Safety Advice

Before tanning, you should consider your reactions to sun exposure and your family history. These factors can affect your personal danger when tanning. When visiting the salon, you should always wear the protective safety goggles provided by the company. By being aware of the danger, you can take care of your body and tan safely.

7. Keep up to date

The only way to know what's going on in the tanning bed industry is to keep up. Check for new guidelines, regulations, and safe facts regularly so that your tanning experience is the best.

Knowing the safe facts about tanning will allow you to make the best decisions regarding your tanning bed whether at home or in a salon and to keep your skin healthy and glowing for years to come.
